LSFM to Remain Open

In response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Chicago, we at the LSFM are concerned but want to take a moment to ensure our responsibility to our Community. The market will remain open for business through the end of March 2020, regular hours, 10am-3pm. Please take a moment to review our plan to maintain a healthy environment for all. -To reduce risk to others, we ask that everyone please wash their hands upon entry. Please ask the Info Table where the bathrooms are if you cannot find. -Market staff/volunteers will routinely clean EBT service equipment, wipe down tables where customers eat and all common door handles with the required alcohol content. -All vendors who are handling food have a Food Handling Certificate. We are encouraging them to wash their hands more frequently, and to clean their equipment after each interaction.

It is important to remember that viruses do not target by race or ethnicity. Please follow common sense hygiene practices as encouraged by the CDC and the Chicago Department of Public Health. Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

We are monitoring the situation and will provide more updates as needed.
